The golf course in Karviná-Lipiny is opening
4/20/2012
On Friday, 20 April 2012, a master golf course in Karviná-Lipiny is opening for the public; a public golf course will be in operation probably starting from July. This territory between two still functional coal mines - Karviná and Darkov - was recultivated by AWT Rekultivace, which also co-participated in the construction of the golf course itself.
The largest portion of construction work was performed directly on the putting green. A golf course with nine holes was built there with a total area of 548 thousand m2:
- 3.66 km of grass-covered courses
- 13.5 km of pipeline and telescopic sprinklers
- 13 km of drainage in a drainage system
- 220 soakage pits
The area includes a parking lot for 80 cars, golf club, utility building, sheltered driving range, decorative reservoir and expanses of water in whose construction AWT also took part together with subcontractors.
Work was performed from November 2010 to August last year. Work on "Modification of the River Stonávka" is currently under way that is associated with the golf course so that when it is completed the golf course could be smoothly extended to an eighteen-hole golf course. This should be in operation from 2015. Before the very construction of the golf resort, AWT Rekultivace had been performing sanitation and recultivation work on the Darkov territory since 2003 in several stages, including landscaping of the subsided territory.
